Reportedly, Sonam Kapoor had been approached earlier for 'TMK.' Farah Khan and her illustrious dad Anil Kapoor share a fab friendship and Akshay Kumar was only too keen to romance Sonam onscreen.

But for reasons yet to be uncovered, Farah and Sonam couldn't join forces for 'Tees…..

Anees Bazmi's light hearted love story 'Thank You' was to star the delectable Kaif, but apparently, she declined the offer politely. Bazmi approached Sonam and father Anil Kapoor ('No Entry,' 'No Problem') was only too pleased with the casting prospect.

Bazmi decided on Sonam, impressed with her histrionics in 'Delhi 6'.

"She's really got what it takes," he declares in a newspaper chat. "Akshay will pair up with her nicely, because my film needs a beautiful girl who's strong on the inside."
