BAFTAA Biggie: Father First; Now 'Guru' Bachchan

Bachchan Junior is blissed out with BAFTAA. Abhishek Bachchan has been invited to open the 12th London Asian Film Festival 'Tongues Of Fire' (March 5 14).

The British Academy Of Film And Television Artistes (BAFTAA), in association with 'Tongues Of Fire' will honour the Bingo Boy. Besides, the expressly talented actor will also be interviewed for the Academy's 'A Life In Pictures' segment spotlighting topline creative talent in films.

A 'Masterclass With Abhishek Bachchan' followed by the screening of 'Guru' will complete the BAFTAA glee for the actor.

Incidentally, this honour holds a special place in Abhy's celeb heart as he is the second Indian film actor who is being lavished with this honour. The first, being his redoubtable dad Amitabh Bachchan. "What is even more exciting," says Bachchan Jr in a newspaper chat, "is that I am the first from the young generation to represent my film industry to the English audience." Bravo, Bachchan!
