It's a spectacular win win situation for Shah Rukh Khan, Karan Johar and Fox Searchlight. 'My Name Is Khan' became the third film in Bollywood history to bag 150 crores worldwide, and in doing so has ushered itself into a supremely select group of films. Trade sources are already hailing it as the highest Shah Rukh Khan phillum, ever.

Only SRK could have managed this triumph. In Februrary, cold weather and exams in parts of India are often cited as dampeners for cine business. 'MNIK', however, as vaulted itself to fame, despite the blasts and controversies. Within a span of 10 days, 'MNIK' earned the distinction of doing business double the size of any Bollywood movie released in February.

It's raking in the lolly by the bushels across international markets. 'MNIK' is already being hailed as the biggest Bollywood film of all time within 10 days in the UAE, South Africa, Holland, Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia, East and West Africa, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Mauritius.

In the Middle East, the film has not only smashed all existing Bollywood records within 10 days, but has even beaten Fox Searchlight's previous highest grosser 'Slumdog Millionaire' in Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, UAE and Egypt.

Fox Searchlight is pleased as punch with their spectacular win and according to Mario Haddad, Head of Empire International Middle East, "The drop in the second week is less than 10 per cent. Due to the demand, we are opening in Jordan, Lebanon and Syria on March 10th."

In the UK, the film has become the fastest film to cross GBP 2m, managing the feat within just 11 days. The strong run in UK continues even in the second week, and is on its way to breaking the all time record of 'K3G' in the UK, quite soon.

In the US and Canada, 'MNIK' is already being hailed as the highest grossing SRK film of all time, within just 10 days of release.

The 2002 Bollywood hit Devdas 'landed' US figure skaters Meryl Davis and Charlie White a coveted silver medal in the Vancouver Winter Olympics on Sunday. They scored 67.08 for the original dance - set to the tune of a hip - shaking Dola Re Dola - and 108.55 overall with Andrew Lloyd Webber's Phantom of the Opera.

The two University of Michigan students’ costumes were classic. Davis’s dress, with its ruby - red skirt and brocaded bodice ( ghagra choli ), was simply gorgeous. The sapphire blue stole (dupatta ) made for a good prop, too, as she flipped it around to the beat of the music. White wore an eye - catching sherwani with jewelled cuffs.

Their Bollywood- style dance was a feast for the senses, packed with interesting body movements and complicated and unique steps. But they did more than just look pretty. They were so fast they were practically sprinting across the ice, yet they stayed in character throughout and never lost the playful, facial expressions that transported the audience to a wedding in Mumbai.

For anyone who questions whether ice dance is a sport, just watch their twizzles - spinning turns - that they paired with arm and hand movements. The Indian - themed original dance was actually coach Marina Zoueva’s idea. She spotted a scarf in a Hermes catalogue with an Indian - themed design and immediately thought of Davis.

But the two ice dancers didn't want to simply play characters on the rink. So they called Anuja Rajendra, who combines Bollywood music and dance with exercise at her BollyFit studio in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Rajendra, who once performed professionally, not only showed them how to move their arms and bodies in true Indian dance style, but also suggested the music and taught them about Indian culture. "It was interesting, stuff we weren't familiar with," White said. Their Bollywood dance at the US trials for the Olympics has been highly acclaimed. A dance video has gone viral on YouTube, with just one version garnering almost 2.5 lakh page views - many from India. The significance was not lost on Davis and White as they did an encore at the Olympics.

Yes, as per the latest reports doing the rounds, the newly opened Madame Tussauds wax museum in Hollywood, Los Angeles, recently unveiled King Khan's wax statue at a grand event held.

And Shahrukh, who already has his wax statue at London Madame Tussauds, is the first Bollywood star to be inducted into this (Hollywood) museum, which boasts of wax figures of celebrities like Audrey Hepburn, Clark Gable, Jennifer Lopez, Nicole Kidman, Johnny Depp, Alfred Hitchcock, Steven Spielberg, Beyonce and David Beckham, symbolizing a coming together of the world's two great film centers, Hollywood and Bollywood.

However SRK himself couldn't attend the unveiling function as he is busy with his upcoming film MY NAME IS KHAN promotions.

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has expressed disappointment over the apparent snub to Pakistani players by Indian Premier League bidders.

"I truly believe Pakistan players should have been chosen," The Dawn quoted the Kolkata Knight Riders co-owner, as saying.

Although there were "some issues", the matter could have been handled by the IPL "respectfully", Khan said.

"They are the champions, they are wonderful but somewhere down the line there is an issue and we can't deny it," Khan said in an interview with a news channel.

No Pakistani player was bought by the eight Indian clubs during an auction on Tuesday for the third edition of the glitzy IPL.

Khan said it was humiliating to him as a KKR owner that no one bid for the Pakistani players despite them being put up for auction.

"We are known to invite everyone. We should have. If there were any issues, they should have been put on board earlier. Everything can happen respectfully. Everyday we blame Pakistan, everyday Pakistan blames us. It is an issue," he added.

Khan, who had five players from Pakistan playing for KKR in IPL's first edition, said the youth should avoid all that is said about India and Pakistan by the politicians.

"Pakistan is a great neighbour to have. We are great neighbours, They are good neighbours. Let us love each other. Let me be honest. My family is from Pakistan, my father was born there and his family is from there," he added.

Just a couple of days back we broke the news about Shah Rukh Khan's visit to the historic Aligarh Muslim University, along with writer-lyricist Javed Akhtar and his actress wife Shabana Azmi. The program is slated for this Saturday at around 1:30 pm, when SRK is scheduled to interact directly with the students at AMU's Kennedy Hall auditorium.

However, there are concerns regarding King Khan's safety as the internal security is fully in the hands of the university's ill-equipped baton wielding Proctorial force, rather than the district administration.

While the university administration is considering letting in a select number of students and no outsiders will be permitted, there is unprecedented buzz and excitement. Even the university's PRO Rahat Abrar accepts that there are demands for passes by the minute, as everyone in town wants to meet King Khan!

What makes the situation worse is that the teaching faculty has been totally ignored and AMUTA (Aligarh Muslim University Teachers Association) has no involvement of any kind. In the past the teaching faculty has actively participated in such VIP visits and helped in keeping the students disciplined. Given the huge buzz and unprecedented excitement on the campus, there is every likelihood of some unpleasant incident taking place.

In addition to the above, the extreme climatic conditions, especially the dense fog prevailing in North India may well prove to be a dampener, as SRK, Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi may find it difficult and hazardous to arrive either via air or road.

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan will visit the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Jan 23 to hold 'interactive sessions' with the varsity students, an AMU official said Tuesday.

'Shah Rukh recently had expressed his desire to interact with the varsity students. In this regard he even contacted the varsity's vice chancellor P.K. Abdul Azis,' AMU official spokesperson Rahat Abrar told reporters in this Utar Pradesh town, some 300 km from state capital Lucknow.

'Noted Urdu poet and lyricist Javed Akhtar and versatile actress and social activist Shabana Azmi will accompany Shah Rukh and participate in the interactive sessions. Both of them had also contacted the varsity's administration for organising the interactive sessions,' he added.

According to varsity officials, the decision to invite Shah Rukh, Javed and Shabana, has been taken following their requests to interact with the students.

'They had just wished to interact with the students. They had not mentioned any particular topic on which they want to interact. So, AMU is inviting them on their personal wishes,' Abrar told IANS.

'Of the three, Javed Akhtar is an alumnus of our institution,' he said.

In a latest, SRK tweeted Indian Premier League chief Latit Modi, "got loads of work for khan release. dont know if i will make it to auction...also dont have money to buy any players. ha ha."

The maverick megastar started the New Year by joining the website on invitation of his friend, producer-director Karan Johar. The actor started connecting to his fans right from the word go. His first tweet went like, "hi everyone. being extremely shy i never thought i would be here. but my friend @kjohar25 insisted that i should learn to share my life." It's no surprise then, that he his Twitter handle (id) @iamsrk has already amassed 74,992 in a short span of 13 days!

Bollywood badshah Shahrukh Khan works hard but he partied harder at the birthday bash of another tinsel town sensation- Hrithik Roshan.

As Hrithik Roshan turned 36 on Sunday the entire Bollywood showered him with good wishes. Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Bachchan, Kareena Kapoor and Karan Johar joined the party with SRK, said the actor in his twitter post.

Shahrukh Khan tweeted: "Been to Duggu (nickname of Hrithik) Hrithik's house, his birthday, we Karan, Riteish, Abhishek, Ash, Saif, Kareena, Preity, Dino, Kunal, Farah Ali had a good bash."

Hrithik Roshan is scheduled to shoot on his big day for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film GUZAARISH.
