Buzz is that Shahid Kapoor was being considered to be part of an upcoming reality show but the deal fell through. Shahid was being considered to anchor the show along with Priyanka Chopra. But when Priyanka chose to do FEAR FACTOR, the deal did not materialize.
Now, Shahid has to wait till his small screen debut takes off, for the moment the actor is enjoying the company of his dad Pankaj Kapoor who is directing him for the upcoming film MAUSAM.
Sonam Kapoor is learning lessons in time management these days. The actress is being given these tuitions free of cost by none other than her director Pankaj Kapoor, who will be directing her in the film MAUSAM.
The film stars Shahid Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor in the lead. Recently, when Sonam Kapoor showed up late at the director's office, Pankaj Kapoor cancelled the proceedings of the day in order to teach Sonam the value of being on time.
Now, for all her meetings with the director, Sonam makes sure that she reaches the venue on time rather than face the wrath of her director who is so particular about time management.

Shahid Kapoor is working hard on his Michael Jackson act for the Filmfare awards, even if it means rehearsing on his birthday Thursday.
Says Shahid: 'The Filmfare organisers felt I could do the Michael Jackson tribute. And I took up the challenge.
'We didn't have much time to rehearse, only four days. But I've grown up watching MJ's music videos, am a huge fan, so it wasn't difficult to master the choreography. I will be paying a tribute, not copying MJ. But it is better not to adulterate his steps,' he adds.
While other performers at the Filmfare awards Saturday will have their acts recorded, Shahid will perform live.
Says the focussed performer: 'Yes, I'll be going live... an eight-minute homage. I love dancing on stage. In India, there's no specific culture for stage performances.
'Out West, there's a huge market for live performances. Their films don't have songs and dances. Their pop stars have a vibrant stage culture. So, stage performances are a huge market in the West,' he adds.
Shasha's troublesome ways are earning reams of newsprint. On his 29th b'day, though, Shahid Kapoor aims in all earnestness to revamp his personal image.
Admittedly, he's been going on the sets with a know it all attitude. "This year, I plan to be a student during the making of my father's film 'Mausam'," asserts Shahid in a tabloid talk. "I'll go on to the set with an attitude of learning, and come out better on both counts: as an actor and a person."
On his b'day, though, he plans to reconnect with his mommie dearest: "Earlier, mom and I lived together," says Shahid. "We have a great emotional connect and now my brother Ishaan stays with her."
Delving into flashback, Shahid recalls the time when he was a four year old who would embarrass his mom by tearing open gifts and expressing his delight or displeasure right away.

A sudden change in work schedule made Shahid Kapoor a nervous wreck last month. A timely visit to his father Pankaj Kapoor's spiritual guru in the hills however revealed to him the virtues of stillness in an overactive lifestyle.
Having finished all his assignments, the actor has no projects on hand at the moment apart from his dad's film 'Mausam'.
Shahid told IANS, 'All I can say is faith makes all things possible. That's why it's called a leap of faith. I was working 20 hours a day till Jan 20. I was working insanely. When I woke up on Jan 21, I had no work to go to.
'Initially I felt a sense of freedom. Then immediately it was followed by panic...what do I do with myself? I've become an insomniac and started tweeting at 4 a.m. I don't feel tired. I feel I haven't earned the right to rest. And I don't know what to do with myself!'
However, here is the upside. 'Every time I've sat at home without work, it has worked for my career. I did it before 'Vivah' and before 'Jab We Met'.'
Shahid will be doing only one film in 2010 and that is his father's 'Mausam'. He will serve as a hands-on technician, spotboy whatever for the project.
'While I'm being directed by my dad, I'd like to learn in every department. I want to learn about cinematography, choreography and direction. Most of all, I'd learn a lot about acting from my dad. I want to try and absorb from him.'
The thought of acting in front of his father petrifies Shahid. 'It's a very scary thought. But in life you have to face challenges. Of course, there's anxiety and fear about acting in front of my father. I quite often think I've given a decent performance. And then when I hold a trial show for my father, all the confidence crumbles.'
Shahid remembers a nightmarish incident. 'I remember this one time when we were shooting for 'Jab We Met' near Khandala. Dad dropped in and was watching me on the monitor. And I just couldn't give my shot! I actually had to tell my dad to leave. I tactfully told him to proceed, and I'd join him for lunch. He immediately understood. And my next shot was okay.'
Explaining his reason for staying away from all other projects, Shahid says, 'It's a film very close to my heart because after 35 years of acting, dad is finally directing a film. After being the best actor in the country - that's what I believe him to be - he has decided to make a film with me in the lead because he wants to project me in a certain way.
'It's a huge sacrifice for someone who does so little work as an actor. The least I can do is to be there unconditionally for him during the time that he makes the film.'
To prepare for 'Mausam', Shahid needs to train as a pilot at a military academy.
Says Shahid, 'I don't want to reveal right now what all I'll be doing. But, yes, I do play an air force pilot. But if you think I'll learn how to fly a plane for the film, then all I can say is I haven't reached that stage of madness!'
Sonam Kapoor was at the receiving end of some cinematic attention. Coming from Shahid Kapoor, no less. Reportedly, the duo of Kapoors were seated in the front row at a plush five star venue watching the proceedings of a ramp show. And Shasha seemed to be all ears for Sonam only, blithely ignoring Amrita Rao, his former co star ('Vivah') who was seated diametrically opposite him.
Word has it that SK did not bestow Rao with a single glance. Instead he yakked nineteen to the ninety with Sonam Senorita and rewarded her with a warm bear hug too. Poor Rao was left looking all lovey dovey in Shasha's direction…

Confirming the news, producer Shaira Khan says, "Initially, he told us that we should make five cheques to cover his fee for the project. But when it was time to actually hand them over to him, he took us by surprise. He told us to issue the cheques in the names of the charitable organizations."
Adds Shaira, "There is so much hearsay about Nana Patekar and the kind of person he is. But any such thoughts banished from my first meeting with him itself. For me, he is a sweetheart. He is great fun to work with. Shooting with him made us realize that Nana is a grossly misunderstood man. He will always remain an absolute delight for us."
Nana Patekar who plays a school principal in the PAATHSHALA was touched by the concept of the film which revolves around the pressures that children face at the hands of our Indian education system these days.
He felt it would be wrong to charge a fee for such a noble cause and thus decided to reach out to the less fortunate sections of society through donations.
Shahid Kapoor, who also plays a pivotal role in the film, has also refused to charge any remuneration for the film.
Well, given the current scenario of the problems surrounding the children, this gesture by Nana and Shahid has surely highlighted their support to the worthy cause.

Vidya Balan believes in doing only meaningful characters and Balki's sleeper hit, PAA, was a standout example of the actress's resolve to sign only roles of substance. In Vishal Bhardwaj's ISHQIYA, Vidya's latest release, she will once again drive home the same point.
As per the traditionally beautiful actress, she signed ISHQIYA because she found the subject challenging and also due to the fact that her character was central to the film. Moreover, she was very happy that a director of the caliber of Vishal Bhardwaj came to her and asked her to go through the script, saying that it was she who he had in mind to play the role of Krishna and not a conventional actress.
However when Vidya read the script she faced the same dilemma as her KISMET KONNECTION co-star Shahid Kapoor had faced while signing Vishal's KAMINEY. Just like Shahid, Vidya too is soft spoken and well mannered and at first she found it very embarrassing to use the swear words that her character in ISHQIYA (Krishna) uses so unabashedly, very much like Shahid had feared while signing KAMINEY.
In fact, it was in early 2009 that we had had broken the news about Shahid's fears while signing KAMINEY (Shahid's fears while signing KAMINEY! - March 12, 2009). But very much like her professional co-star, Vidya too shed her inhibitions, and the result is there for all to see in the promos, where (and now the film!) Vidya can be seen hurling invectives effortlessly. And as she has said in one of her recent interviews - Vidya won't be seen in ISHQIYA, it will be Krishna who will come across strongly on screen- seems quite true.

Shahid Kapoor says actors should be like "supermarkets", offering whatever the audience wants from them in terms of variety.
"I really believe this and I hope one day I can really become this. I think an actor should be like a supermarket. I think he should be able to provide the consumers whatever they want. Also it's very important to tell the audience that I'm not here to do only one kind of film. I am here to do all kinds of films," Shahid told IANS.
After his double role in hit film "Kaminey", the actor will be seen in a completely different avatar in forthcoming film "Chance Pe Dance", in which he pairs opposite Genelia D'Souza. The movie is releasing Jan 15.

Paresh Rawal looking for negative roles
Paresh Rawal made a mark with grey shades in films like "Ram Lakhan", "Jigar", "Damini" and "Auzaar" before being noticed in comedies. The actor however denies bidding adieu to villain roles.
Asked if he was drifting towards doing more comic roles now, he said: "This is not true. I have done films like 'Oye Lucky Lucky Oye', 'Mumbai Meri Jaan', 'Firaaq', 'Youn Hota To Kya Hota' in which I am not at all doing comedy but playing a serious character."
"I am waiting for the right kind of negative character that I would love to play and still find it challenging enough," he added.

Canada-based Indian filmmaker Deepa Mehta might have wielded the megaphone for serious movies like "Earth", "Fire", "Water" and "Heaven On Earth" but she says whatever be her subjects, they derive out of her "passion" for good stories.
"I don't make commercial films or work in Bollywood. I don't have a book with formulas. It (a film) just happens on what touches me. It's a story," Mehta told IANS.
"It takes two years of my life to make a film. I am not an actor who makes films every four months. So it better be something that I am passionate about. Otherwise what's the point?" she added.
Mehta's next is the big-screen adaptation of Salman Rushdie' bestseller "Midnight's Children".

Popular filmmaker Karan Johar is so busy promoting his film "My Name Is Khan" that he didn't even notice actor Abhishek Bachchan waving out to him on the streets recently.
"Just passed Karan Johar on the road. And he didn't wave back! Ooooooh you in trouble now boy!" Abhishek posted on his Twitter page.

Bollywood actress Preity Zinta, who went to the prestigious Harvard University in the US for a brief management course, says she had great fun being a student.
"Harvard was an amazing experience. Knowledge is key to any door in life. Sometimes when you step back and go back to school, you look at life differently. It was great being a student, not taking any thing for granted and it was great learning new things," Preity told reporters.
The 34-year-old went for a short executive course in negotiating and deal-making.

After being linked to a string of actresses, Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor has finally cleared the air about his relationship status. He says he is very much single.
'I am very much single, available and definitely ready to mingle,' Shahid said on Sony TV's new reality show 'Lift Kara De'.
Shahid came as a celebrity guest on the show, which is hosted by filmmaker Karan Johar, and produced by Yash Raj Films.
The 28-year-old found himself on sticky ground when Johar asked him about his link-up with 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi' actress Anushka Sharma, with whom Shahid is featuring in Parmeet Sethi's untitled directorial debut.

Mumbai, Jan 6 (IANS) Out of all different movie promotion ideas, this one seems new. Bollywood actors Shahid Kapoor and Genelia D'Souza will be spending Wednesday night together in a car here to promote their forthcoming film 'Chance Pe Dance'.
'Shahid and Genelia will be spending a full night in a small car at the Kamalistan Studios today. There will be vada pao (bun) vendors and khatiyas (string cot) nearby for the people. We want to make this the most talked about promotional activity in Bollywood and it's being done on a major scale,' a source from the film unit told IANS.
In the film, Shahid plays a struggler who comes to Mumbai to make it big in the movies. According to the source, the activity was planned as it bears semblance with the lives of those who come here to try their luck and also because a scene in the movie depicts it.
'This activity has similarities with our movie. In fact in his own days of struggle, Shahid used to sleep in a car many times. In the movie also, there's a scene where these strugglers have to spend nights altogether, because they have no place to stay,' added the source.
The activity will continue till Thursday morning and those who will be present there will be able to share tea and bun maska (bun and butter) with the stars. It will be served at 6 a.m.
