KKK.KKKK… Kanan, Not Khan!

He can easily drum up a sensation. Quite literally. Since Kanan Malhotra, the new find lead of 'Phaans ek jasoos ki kahani' happens to be a professional 'tabla' player. The former model with a repertoire of over 25 ads and commercials to his credit (Airtel,Coke), honed his histrionics under the watchful gaze of Kishore Namit Kapoor.

"I'm playing Rohit, a software engineer in 'Phaans', which is basically an Indo Pak spy drama," reveals Kanan. "After a long time, we will get to see a film which I feel will improve Indo Pak relations."

Delving into flashback, Kanan ferrets out an indelible experience. "There was a scene where I have to run through a jungle to cross the border and enter Pakistan. It was a forest full of thorns and spiky bushes. In the process, my shirt was torn to shreds and I also got some nasty scratches on my body. But in the end, the scene went off very well. All the unit members had a good laugh looking at my shirt!"

Apart from his second effort 'Faraar' slated for a March release, Kanan will also be spotted in a Malayalam flick with "a top actor and my positioning in the film is very good."

Kanan opines that he's also not averse to accepting telly offers, since "all the top actors are seen on television today."
