Salman Khan Birthday this year will be celebrated in Dubai and the guests are presently in desert emirates instead of his Panvel farmhouse where he parties on this big day.

No cursory greeting. No smiles. Not a single word exchanged. Rather, no contact, at all.
Reportedly, Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan were filming at the famed Mehboob Studios in Mumbai at the same time. And the air was tense with the probable outcome of fireworks, if the unpredictable Khan and his former flame did manage to come face to face!
Khan was facing the arc lights for his home production 'Dabanng', while Kat was beaming away at a photo shoot for Zoya Akhtar's 'Running With The Bulls' starring Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar and Abhay Deol.
The staff members posted right outside their respective vanity vans took express care to see that the eventuality did not arise by alerting each about the other's movements, from time to time.
Says a close source, "The two ex lovers kept a very safe distance from one another. At an earlier time, Salman had dropped in to chat with Hrithik in his van when he was shooting for 'Guzaarish' in the same premises. But this time, Duggu also did not come to meet Salman or vice versa. Everyone completed their work and left immediately after pack up was announced."
Salman Khan, brand ambassador of the IIFA Charity Initiative in conjunction with the Sri Lanka Cricket Board, Habitat for Humanity and UNICEF, has whipped up a wave of interest as Khan's 'Being Human' and his largesse have been well documented in most periodicals.
After the success of IIFA in Macau, Lara Dutta, Riteish Deshmukh and Boman Irani will show up as hosts once again for the IIFA Awards 2010. Incidentally, Lara and Boman will play hosts for the fourth time at the Awards, while this is Riteish's third time teaming up with funnyman Boman.
"I've been to Sri Lanka earlier, it's a beautiful country," states Lara. "And now that there is peace prevailing there, it should be all the more exciting to go there now. Riteish, Boman and I bonded very well during 'Housefull'. And when we're playing hosts at IIFA, our script goes through changes for about five to seven drafts, before a final one takes shape."
Adds she, "Besides, it's great fun too coz' we incorporate the film bits in it and it's a challenge for us actors to be hosting the show. The charity initiative is a great idea and it's a great opportunity for us to contribute in our own way."

Salman Khan's pretty kicked up. About 'Kick', that is. Four years earlier, producer Sajid Nadiadwala and Salman Khan had joined forces for 'Jaan–e–Mann', and the duo were desirous of crafting another flick together. And 'Kick' could well be it.
Tweets Sallu gleefully, "Hey, just heard the story of Kick. Loved it. He (the character) only does what gives him a kick in life which is so fantastic."
Incidentally, the title of 'Kick' was already registered with PNC. Rangita Nandy, however, was gracious enough to hand it over to SN, when she realised how keen he was to get it.
Salman Khan's merging his two great loves… charity and cricket… for a humanitarian cause. Come May 21, Dubai will welcome Khan for a charity cricket match for his 'Being Human'.
The prize: 'Being Human Cup' will be contended by celebs from India and Pakistan. Reportedly, Khan had been planning this move since quite a while, though he was waiting for the IPL 3 to tail off before he could announce it.
It's been touted that Sharman Joshi, Jackie Shroff, Riteish Deshmukh, Azharuddin, Govinda, Vinod Kambli, Arbaaz and Sohail Khan, among others, will represent the Indian team. The cheerleading glam gals are likely to be Zarine Khan, Riya Sen, Dia Mirza and Neha Dhupia.
A close source states, "All the proceeds from the match will be directed towards 'Being Human.' The Pakistani side will also comprise celebs such as actors Ali Zafar, Shaan Shahid and Adnan Siddiqui, among others. And among the cheerleaders will be Nadia Hussein, the musical group 'Strings' and Iman Ali."
Post match, plans are on the anvil to unveil a fashion show and a lavish dinner for team participants.
Salman Khan's generosity tales continue to enthrall his fans. Case in point: the actor's recent act of benevolence at Wai, whilst shooting for 'Dabbang'.
During the filming, thronging hordes of fans would show up to have a dekko at the star, including a sizeable percentage of aged men and women. Khan interacted with many of them politely and often invited them over for lunch too. During his talks with them, he realized that most of them were ailing from poor vision or sore eyes.
Pronto… the star swung into action, had a Mumbai eye specialist summoned to Wai and conducted an eye camp on the sets!
Since a large number of them were ridden with cataract problems, Salman had them operated upon at Pune and also arranged for their post operative care.
Says a close source, "When first checked it was found that 26 aged people were suffering from cataract problems. Salman accompanied them to Pune for their surgeries. The following week he took another 22 old folks to Pune and had their cataract surgeries performed too."
He's 'Wanted', she's 'Ready'. Reportedly, Deepika Padukone who was supremely eager to be cast alongside Salman Khan in Anees Bazmee's forthcoming flick has been elbowed out… in favour of Asin!
The Bazmee flick, a remake of a South blockbuster 'Ready', will showcase the 'London Dreams' duo, once again. Although, Vipul Shah's flick didn't exactly set the cash registers ringing, it helped to forge a good palship between Khan and Asin.
Reportedly, it was Khan who convinced Bazmee and producer Bhushan Kumar (T series) to lassoe in Asin as the female lead for the romantic comedy, readying to roll in June.

Salman Khan will showcase and… show off his pedal power. The Mumbai cyclothon – the Tour de Mumbai cycle race promoted by Being Human the Salman Khan Foundation, aims to promote the practice of cycling in the megapolis.
Khan will cycle to success, though, he does not intend to cover the entire distance chalked out. Apart from amateur and professional cyclists, cycling enthusiasts, professionals, housewives and school children too are expected to join forces with Khan's starry riding
The possessor of several professional bikes, Khan is famed for cycling away to shootings when confronted with a traffic bottleneck.
"Cycling gives me a kick," he asserts in a media chat. "It prevents pollution and it's a good form of cardio exercise. Almost anybody can afford a cycle. For the first three to four days, your butt may get sore, but don't give up."
Salman Khan's flogging the competition in the cine market and blogging away to glory, as well. Reportedly, Sal Man, the man who loves forging bonds with fans, was diligently writing his blogs as 'Veer'.
But the chequered response to his historical flick didn't exactly buoy his spirits. Net result: the shirtless Khan stopped his blogging bit, pronto.
But bingo! The flood of responses that he earned, requesting Khan to communicate again, made him do a furious rethink. Suitably impressed and thrilled beyond doubt, 'Veer' Khan is back to being on the write path.
He's had an enduring affair with football. And Salman Khan plans to vroom into South Africa between June 11 and July 11 to catch the 2010 FIFA World Cup TM action, live in the host nation.
"Sport speaks a universal language," he says. His earlier quote: 'Sports and religion should not mix', though, made headlines and earned him the communal ire of the Sena.
The shirtless Khan has made several trips to South Africa, and has also had the good fortune of playing around with 'Zakumi'

Designer Shabina Khan says that Rahul Mahajan, son of the slain Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Pramod Mahajan, has given standing instructions that he wants to wear only non-itchy clothes for his reality show 'Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayega'.
'Rahul was not very fussy and choosy with the designs. He had just laid a very simple ground rule that he does not want any itchy fabric to be used as comfort was his first priority,' Shabina told IANS over phone from Mumbai.
'Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayega' went on air Feb 1 on NDTV Imagine.
'He let me explore my creativity, in appropriation with his personality. I used warm fabrics with rich textures and splashed a lot of colours.'
Shabina Khan has worked as designer for more than 30 films, including 'Hum Aapke Hain Koun?', 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam', 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' and 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham'.
'It was a wonderful experience to work with Rahul. He is very talkative and fun-loving person.'
When asked about his looks and personality, Shabina said: 'Rahul doesn't represent a high profile metrosexual hunk. He has very sweet middle-class look (Mumbaiya looks) which helps him appeal to the masses and relate more.'
Fighting it out with machismo and muscle, the stage was geared up for a live boxing match. Braving some serious punches, Salman Khan, Bollywood's 'Bad Boy' emerged the true victor!
The boxing bout, incidentally, was meant to draw a parallel with Khan, who has also fought his tribulations and risen from disaster to success, time and again.
In keeping with his indomitable spirit, Dixcy Scott, the inner wear brand declared Salman Khan as their new triumphant brand ambassador. Besides, the company's former name: Prem Hosiery is perfectly in tandem with Prem, Khan's screen name in the Barjatya movies. 'Inner'connection, Khan?
Salman Khan did give sleepless nights to… another Khan. This time around, though, it was for a creative cause. Mudassar Khan, 25, happens to be the recent beneficiary of 'Veer' Khan's goodness.
Apparently, SK spotted Mudassar performing with his troupe 'Sharp Shooters' at a local Mumbai mall, when he showed up at a promotional event for 'Wanted.' And the mercurial Khan was bowled over by his moves.
"Salman sir liked my work so much that he asked me to choreograph his dance for an awards night," gushes Mudassar in a tabloid chat. "I took it as a responsibility more than an opportunity."
Impressed with the results, SK has roped in Khan for a new song number in the actor's new venture 'Dabanng'. "It's a great song called 'humka peena hai' and Salman sir has been helping me to learn in so many ways. He never behaves like a big star."
Notch one more admirer to Khan's swelling fan base…
It's a trio of hassled times for the Khans. Salman 'Veer' Khan, all set for some divine innings (post 'Veer' fans in New Delhi, Kolkata and Rajasthan have been garlanding his photos and performing 'aartis' too) is in for a serious spot of anguish too.
The Rajput community are up in arms against his Anil Sharma helmed flick. They have taken an express objection to a scene showing the Rajput princess being crowned to take charge of the kingdom when her father is still alive! "This is definitely blasphemous," says a member of the Rajput community. "It's against facts and we will not allow it."
Meanwhile, the other two Khans : SRK and Aamir have earned the communal ire of the Shiv Sena. 'Dopahar Ka Saamna', the Sena mouthpiece has derided the duo of rival Khans and lauded them as '2 Idiots.' SRK for blatantly insisting that Pakistani cricketers should be included in IPL3 and Aamir for dragging in national sentiments while speaking in favour of Paki cricket biggies. Guess, Rajkumar Hirani should gear up for '3 Khans'!
Katrina Kaif might be frustrated over Salman Khan’s over-possessive nature but the actress could not get out of the relationship because it was Salman Khan and his family and friends who supported her in every way during her struggling days in Bollywood. And this truth has come from the horse mouth Katrina Kaif itself. Katrina might be very diplomatic about her relationship with Sallu Miya but she cannot totally cut ties from him for the help and support that he has landed to her when she was ignorant about Hindi film industry.
"Salman Khan, his family & friends looked after me", Katrina candidly accepted in the show ‘Lift Kara De’ when Karan Johar asked her who are the people who helped this 19-year-old girl when she landed in Mumbai without knowing a soul in this city. Among Salman’s friend were designer Anna Singh and directors like David Dhawan and Anees Bazmee who has helped Katrina to achieve her goal.
But when Karan questioned Katrina the very common question, whether she is single, she cleverly replied, "I believe that until you are married you are single!"
