Her shapely frame has often been spotted in sizzling wear. The daring Bipasha Basu, however, has turned demure for Rahul Dholakia's 'Lamhaa,' sporting a burkha for the maiden time for a movie.

Besides, even as rivals turn green with envy over Bips, courtesy her fitness DVD and future flicks, Bips has opted to sport green contact lenses for the Bunty Walia production.

Enacting a Kashmiri woman, Aziza in 'Lamhaa', Bips asserts that hers is far from a coy portrayal.

"Don't expect a dainty 'Kashmir Ki Kali' kind of look," asserts Bips in a tabloid chat. "Aziza is a modern politically aware girl. Everything that I wear in the film is loose and oversized. And I haven't worn make up either for most part of the film, except some 'kaajal'.

"My designer Rocky brought me the 'burkha'," she says. "I've never worn one earlier in my life ever."

The green contact lenses have their own little tale too.

James Fowlds, director of photography, insisted that Bips wear them for greater impact. "I'm used to wearing lenses in real life," admits Bips. "But I must say that the green contact lenses look really good."

In less than a month's time from now, a film that has been highly spoken about and eagerly awaited will hit the screens. Titled PANKH, the film stars Bipasha Basu in the lead.

Actually PANKH is produced by Sanjay Gupta's White Feather Entertainment and is directed by Sudipto Chattopadhyay. The story of the film is an unseen phenomenon on the Indian screens. The plot of the film revolves around ego's and alter ego's of its lead characters.

So, does this film categorize as mainstream Bollywood. The director of PANKH has this to answer, "I think PANKH is mainly an urban film. The theme that we have touched in this film identifies more with the sensibilities of the urban dwellers. May be in a few rural areas the film might be appealing. But, I have always maintained that this film touches upon a subject that is way different that you see in usual mainstream films."

PANKH is also making news for the different looks that has been given to Bipasaha Basu in the film. Buzz is that Bips has got as many as nine different looks in the film.

The film also assumes significance since it is one of the most awaited films from Sanjay Gupta's stable after his last production ACID FACTORY.

John Abraham is impressed with girlfriend Bipasha Basu's fitness DVD for women and says it's equally good for men and soon she may come out with the second edition of it.

'I... well... feel she is in the prime shape of her life. And though it is meant for women, it is equally good for men. I think she is coming out with a second DVD. I will follow that too,' John, who was here to unveil the logo of the first ever Kolkata Fashion and Lifestyle Week, told reporters.

The 39-year-old, however, clarified that he has no such plans for himself.

'Right now, I have no such plans. May be 15-20 years later I will come out with a DVD when I am fitter,' he said.

Praising Bipasha, he said that she looked in amazingly good shape after regularly doing the fitness exercises.

Abraham also had lot of good things to say about Bipasha's Bengali movie 'Sab Charitra Kalpanik'. 'It is such a beautiful film. Sometimes certain cinemas miss out on some angles. But Bengali cinema is so layered.'

Asked why he has not been seen in any movie since 'New York', John said: 'Earlier I was doing lot of movies. Some of them were good. Some not so good. I am learning through experience and being selective.'

He says that before signing contract for a film, he gives importance to three things - the entire set up, director and producer and the hero.

'But I must say in lot of films now, the hero is discreet, as one finds in 'Sab Charitra Kalpanik'.

"The video is for those who are are too shy to go the gym, or for those who cannot afford it," discloses Bips in a tabloid chat. "It's also great for working mothers who are struggling with time.
