PNC's impressive line-up for 2010
Whoever thinks that one needs really huge budgets and big stars to make an endearing and funny film should take several leaves out of PNC's book, like JHANKAR BEATS, HAZARON KHWAHISHEIN AISI, PYAR KE SIDE EFFECTS, CHAMELI to name just a few. And then combine with them the team of Rajat Kapoor, Vinay Pathak, Saurabh Shukla who have already woven magic with BHEJA FRY, MITHYA, DASVIDANIYA and you would obviously get a heady mix of great direction, narration and performances as seen in RAAT GAYI BAAT GAYI.
Of course, PNC would continue this trend of refreshing and sensible films in the year to come as well. Here are some snippets of what's to come. Deviating from romantic comedies would be a horror flick CLICK, directed by Sangeeth Sivan and starring Shreyas Talpade, Sada, Sneha Ulhal and Chunky Pandey. Then there would be the much talked about EK THO CHANCE, which sees the return of Saeed Mirza as a director after over a decade. The film stars Vinay Pathak, Rajat Kapoor, Purab Kohli, Amrita Arora, Zafar Karachiwala, Vijay Raaz, Pawan Malhotra, Ali Fazal, Ashwini Kalsekar, Sadia Siddiqui, Saurabh Shukla and is a dramatic representation of everyone who comes to Mumbai, the city of dreams and magic.
There is also a psychological drama, THE ACCIDENT starring Shiney Ahuja, Soha Ali Khan, Juhi Chawla, Rahul Dev, Honey Chaya and directed by Abhijit Chaudhiri. Then there are FATSO and SALUUN, which have already made it to the international film festivals. While FATSO is a romantic comedy directed by Rajat Kapoor and starring Ranvir Shorey, Gul Panag, Purab Kohli, Neil Bhoopalam, and Gunjan Baksh, the social comedy SALUUN stars Gaurav Kapur, Razak Khan, Sakshi Tanwar, Murli Sharma,Brijendra Kala, Chitranjan Giri, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Gayatri Choudhari and is directed by Nikhil Bhat.
Well, with films as diverse as these, it is surely going to be a treat to the audiences and several more feathers in PNC's already crowded cap!
