Minissha Lamba: WELL DONE ABBA was an educative trip

Minissha Lamba: WELL DONE ABBA was an educative trip Time and again one has heard actors make animated statements like - 'Working in the film was like being in a picnic'. Thankfully, WELL DONE ABBA is turning out to be one film where actors are refraining from saying that. Instead, people associated with this Shyam Benegal film have gone on record to state that being with the veteran director on sets meant a lot of learning and enhancement in one's craft.

Fascinated by the experience of working with Shyam Benegal, Minissha Lamba comments, ''I had to be quite alert and focused right through the shoot of this political satire. WELL DONE ABBA is told in a very simple fun light hearted way. In any case, cinema is the reflection of society and in the same mould, this film too is quite tongue in cheek.''

With Boman Irani in the central role, the film also stars Sameer Dattani (as Minissha's love interest), Ravi Kishan, Ila Arun, Salim Ghouse, Sonali Kulkarni, Rajit Kapoor, Yashpal Sharma and Ravi Jhankal.

"With such an ensemble cast in the film, you have to be on your toes all the time. There were some scenes in particular which were quite challenging and I didn't really know where I was and what was I doing. But as I said, Shyam sir gets it going for his actors at the end of the day. I can only say that working in WELL DONE ABBA was an educative trip for me and I only came back a little more well versed in cinema", says Minissha in awe.

A BIG Pictures production, the film has lyrics by Swanand Kirkire, Ila Arun and Ashok Mishra with music by Shantanu Moitra. Earlier titled ABBA KA KUAN, this Shyam Benegal directed film is releasing all over this Friday, i.e. 26th March 2010.
