Malayalam actress Ambika turns director

Malayalam actress Ambika turns director with "Annabella". "Right from the time I became an actress, I wanted to direct at least one film. Now that has become a reality with this film, which would be made in Malayalam and Tamil," said Ambika. "Annabella" is being produced by Ambika's mother and brother. The actress has written the dialogues for the film, which will see debutant Indu Thampi in the female lead. "I didn't think twice when Ambika told me about her film. I am really happy I have got a chance," said Thampy who was recently crowned Miss Kerala. She will team up with new face Kishore. "Even though I am happy that I am directing this film, my passion continues to be acting," added Ambika who is in her late forties. She acted in more than 200 films including Tamil, Kannada and Telegu. But her maximum releases were in Malayalam. She teamed up with leading stars including Mammootty, Mohanlal, Kamalahasan and the late actor Jayan.
