Tributes paid to Bharat Gopi

It is not every day that retrospectives are organised for actors, as the role of an actor in a film is not properly analysed here, said actor Nedumudi Venu on Friday during his commemorative lecture on Bharat Gopi at the valedictory session of 'Mayfest' Bharat Gopi retrospective film festival. Ahead of the valedictory session, the short film Kelkunnundo? directed by Geetu Mohandas was screened, followed by an interaction with the film-maker. The five-day festival was organised by Traya in association with C-Hed of Kochi Corporation and Kerala Chalachitra Academy at Town Hall in Kochi. A retrospective of eight Bharat Gopi films, including Yavanika, Kaattathe Kilikkoodu and Kodiyettam, was screened at the festival. Hindi film directors Mani Kaul and Anurag Kashyap, Tamil director Sasikumar and top Malayalam film actors spoke at the show on different days.
