The weekend gone by saw the release of RIGHT YAAA WRONG, HIDE and SEEK, NA GHAR KE NA GHAT KE, SWAHA and TRUMP CARD. Since none of these managed even a face saving initial, one wonders if the 'evil of IPL' (at least from Bollywood's point of view) has already started showing its ugly face?

For a movie like RIGHT YAAA WRONG, this was perhaps the best time to arrive since it was stuck for long and was searching for a window. With a star cast that boasts of the likes of Sunny Deol, Irrfan Khan and Konkona Sen Sharma, there was always a chance of something good in the offering. The film did indeed turn out to be quite good and saw out and out positive reviews coming its way. Still, the box office opening told a different story.

HIDE and SEEK must be wondering though if it has found itself amidst too much of crowd since it was ready for quite some time now. However, the film's director Shawn Arranha is positive that his horror thriller will see good footfalls coming its way despite the onset of cricket season. "IPL is a sport and a game for everyone to enjoy. Similarly my movie is also meant to entertain people. I know for sure that there will be audience for both of them."

Similar confidence can be sensed in the way Rahul Aggarwal made his debut as an actor, director and producer with small budgeted NA GHAR KE NA GHAT KE. Aided with decent promotion, this film which has actors like Om Puri, Paresh Rawal and Ravi Kissen adding to the 'star value', is arrived at a time when it had to find place for itself between four other releases.

Though it may still fetch some eyeballs in the interiors and single screen audience, one wonders whether the makers of SWAHA and TRUMP CARD come with similar aspirations. Coming out of nowhere, these films do remind of the last year's IPL season (coupled with producer's v/s multiplex standoff) where insignificant releases like these came in horde. No wonder, the outcome wasn't any different.

It's emerged as the Right… and successful choice. Sunny Deol is blissed out at the heartening response to his 'Right Yaaa Wrong'.

'Gannit,' the next collaborative effort from Deol and Neeraj Pathak is a hard hitting political opus set in Uttar Pradesh. Says Pathak in a media chat, "It's set in Lucknow and is a realistic political drama. It will have three heroes, though I have only decided on Sunny Deol, so far."

Reportedly, Mayawati, Amar Singh and Mulayam Singh Yadav are among the UP politicos, who will show up in their "inspired screen characters" in 'Gannit', reflecting the state's inclement politics.

Even as he gears up to chalk out his shooting schedule, slated for the year end, Pathak asserts, "I will take Sunny in all my future projects, he has given me a chance to make a film and has stood by me at all times."

Sunny Deol might be gearing up to rub shoulders again with father Dharmendra and younger brother Bobby in laugh-riot 'Yamla Pagla Deewana' after 'Apne', but the actor-turned-director says they are more family than professionals on sets.

'He is more of a father to us than an actor (on sets). We in fact don't think whether who is father, actor, son or anything while we are working. We just work and if someone is not comfortable with something than we come in and make it comfortable. When we are acting, we're just doing our roles basically,' Sunny told IANS.

'Bobby and I have got a good rapport between us. He is like a younger son to me. It's always been like that,' he added.

TV actor Ram Kapoor says he always thought of Rahul Mahajan as a notorious guy, but his perception changed when he met him on the sets of the reality show 'Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jaayega'

'I got to meet Rahul for the first time on the sets of this show. Whatever I knew of him was through articles that I had read about his various scandals. So I formed an opinion that maybe he is wild and immature. But all that drastically changed when I met him,' said Ram, who is hosting the show.

'He is a very different man underneath. He is very emotional and sensitive,' he added.

'Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jaayega', which comes on NDTV Imagine, is an attempt to find a suitable match for Rahul through a worldwide search.

No fights, no melodrama. Macho man Sunny Deol is set to make people laugh. And he will do it with 'Yamla, Pagla, Deewana', also starring his dad Dharmendra and brother Bobby.

'It's more on the lighter side and we love the script. In fact, we loved the script extremely; so we wanted to do it straightaway. It's one of those hilarious films which people will love,' Sunny told IANS in an interview here.

After 'Apne', he was supposed to do 'Cheers - Celebrate Life' first, but he has pushed the project to a later date.

' 'Cheers' will go a little later. We've still not started that yet because there is 'Yamla Pagla Deewana'. That's the film which we are starting in another 10-15 days with dad, Bob and me.' Sunny said.

'It's a great subject and as the title says it's absolutely opposite to what 'Apne' was.'

Sunny is also contemplating new banner names to present the film, which will be directed by Samir Karnik.

'At the moment we are working on a couple of banners, but mostly it will be Vijeta Films (home banner),' said the actor. He was in the capital to launch the third gym under the health club chain Club Fitline. He is the brand ambassador and is also on the board of directors of the chain.

'We are going to finish 'Yamla...' by May and it will come out this year itself. It's a kind of breather which we all are doing, thinking 'let's do it right now',' he said.

Though the movie title seems to have been inspired from the popular song 'Main jatt yamla pagla deewana', which was picturised on his father in the 1975 movie 'Pratiggya', Sunny hasn't 'thought about using' it in the new film.

And the female lead for the movie hasn't been finalised yet.

'Nothing has been decided at the moment, but a couple of them have been looked at and they will be finalised in a week's time,' said the actor, who was seen in just two films in the last two years 'Heroes' (2008) and 'Fox' (2009).

Asked about his impending second directorial venture, 'The Man', with Shilpa Shetty, he said: 'That has got a little technical hedge and we're trying to sort it out.

'Hopefully, we'll be putting it on the floor and completing it once we're finished with the story. It's got a very good momentum of the script right now. We'll launch it this year.'

And what about the untitled Bhusan Kumar venture with Kangana Ranaut?

'We had started it earlier and were supposed to begin shooting, but because the industry has been in (recession), there has been a little rectification. We're now starting it somewhere in June-July,' he said.

The actor-turned-filmmaker, who wielded the megaphone for 'Dillagi', is also not sure about his future directorial ventures.

'At the moment I am only looking at 'Yamla Pagla Deewana'. We are just working on that and then I am doing my other films,' he said.

Sunny also has another project, 'Right Yaa Wrong', releasing this year.
